TexRAD software was presented in the QIBA section of RSNA from 27th November to 1st December 2011 and generated an enormous amount of interest and excitement. The profile of quantitative biomarkers received a major boost when the President of the RSNA Burton P. Drayer, M.D., identified this field as one of the five most important strategic issues and opportunities facing radiology today. TexRAD fits this challenge perfectly by enabling additional and valuable clinical information to be derived from existing workflow with no additional radiation burden to patients and a marginal additional cost. Scientific Director, Dr Balaji Ganeshan commented “we knew that TexRAD would generate interest from academics and researchers in the field of heterogeneity and imaging biomarkers, but we underestimated the interest from clinicians, in extracting new clinical information from CT data”. TexRAD Limited also presented a Data Mining Tool developed by Dr Mike Hayball and his team at Cambridge Computing Imaging Limited, which will enable research sites to use the commercial version of TexRAD to derive specific biomarker parameters with their own data sets. TexRAD Limited has entered into commercial collaboration discussions with four other significant imaging companies.
